“Fuck your peace!” Marco roared, pulling a silver revolver from his coat and pointing it directly at Lorenzo’s chest. “You’re going to hand the girl over to me right now, or I burn this fucking restaurant to the ground with you inside it!”

The click of eight weapons being drawn simultaneously filled the room. Lorenzo’s men, positioned on the mezzanine and behind the bar, revealed themselves, their rifle red-dots painting crimson targets across Marco’s chest and the foreheads of his men.

Marco’s breath caught in his throat as he realized he had walked directly into an ambush.

Lorenzo didn’t even flinch at the revolver pointed at his heart. He took two slow steps forward until the cold steel barrel of Marco’s gun was pressing directly against his white silk tie.

“Pull the trigger, Marco,” Lorenzo whispered, his voice dark, intimate, and lethal. “Pull it, and my men will paint this entire foyer with you and your crew before your body hits the marble. Or put the gun away, take your men, and get off my territory.”
